Cystic Fibrosis is the UK’s most commonly inherited genetic condition, affecting around 8000 people .

1 in 25 people carry  the gene.

If  2 carriers have a child, there is a 1 in 4 chance that the child will have CF.

CF affects mainly the lungs and digestive system, clogging them with thick sticky mucus, making it difficult to breathe and digest food.

Each week, 5 babies are born with CF.

Each week, 3 young lives are lost to CF.

Average life expectancy of someone with CF is just 38 years.  Better than before, but still not long enough.
